L.E.A.D.E.R.S.H.I.P. 1st has developed a community mentoring program and certification that is designed to recruit and train community mentors to address identified issues within a community. The program is sponsored by each city and is intended to develop professional skills. This L.E.A.D.E.R.S.H.I.P. 1st professional development program is designed help educate and implement best practice and while addressing socially conscious initiatives.

  1. Must complete pre-registration
  2. Application and program fee
  3. Syllabus requirements and completion of implementation of the following:

Model

  • Communication and frame of reference for modeling
  • Character education development

Engage

  • Rules of engagement
  • Do’s and don’ts while engaging your mentoree

Network

  • Develop positive network for mentoree
  • Set up associations and  connections

Teach

  • Inform and educate on identified common factors
  • Life experience and universal lessons

Organize

  • Support the planning and critical thinking process
  • Develop life plan to help increase odds of success

Review

  •  Progress evaluation and adjustments
